We use acoustic filters that have been calibrated at different SNR levels to allow sound to be delivered with the original complexity intended. This allows you to lower the volume while never giving up the full musical experience. Saving your ears from loud music is imperative, yet we know that you want to fully enjoy the sound as it was meant to be heard. Your custom music earplugs come with two pairs of ProGuard filters and a filter insertion tool so that you can adjust your earplugs to suit the needs of the environment. Blue filters are lower level and adequate for general concert going and gigging with an SNR of 18dB. For regular listeners in extremely high volume environments such as DJs, drummers and other musicians, the green filters (offering an SNR of 23dB) are preferred. Though 5dB doesnt seem like a huge difference, consider that a 3dB difference is comparative to doubling the sound. Filters: Blue = 18dB Green = 23dB The acoustic filters are replaceable if you need a new filter or find that you need a different amount of noise reduction. How Will The Impressions be Taken?Simply order the kit and an impression appointment will be made for you at a convenient local Audiologist (sorry, UK only). Your impressions are painless and simple, and once completed, you send them back in the pre-paid box that has already been supplied.
