It is important for us to retain 7-9 hours of sleep every night to allow our bodies to rejuvenate from our daily activities. However, more people who are having problems with sleep are relying on sleeping longer than usual to make them feel more refreshed, but it is having opposite effects. This is not a good way to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so instead why not turn to simple ways to improve your sleeping. It is better for you to sleep smarter than it is for you to be sleeping longer.
Use earplugs to help block to sound of a snoring partner or the constant noise of ongoing traffic. These sleep and snoring earplugs are designed specifically to be worn in bed and are comfortable to wear. They are designed to mould to the shape of your ear to help block or reduce the noise, depending on the attenuation. Having earplugs mould to the shape of your ear, ensures that they will not fall out during the night, they generate maximum comfort and outstanding performance, leaving you feel rested and ready for the next day’s activities.
If the noise isn’t what is keeping you up at night and it is the nights becoming longer, blocking out the sun couldn’t be made any easier. Use an eye shade next time and be amazed at how much quality sleep you will get. They are comfortable to wear and no matter what position you like to sleep in, you can be sure that the mask will not move to allow any light in. There are also some great packs that include not only an eye mask, but also earplugs. It is the essential kit for a good night’s sleep.

Sleep is a critical when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You are expected to have 7-9 hours sleep per night to allow your body to rest and restore itself after the day’s activities. This can be extremely hard to maintain especially if you are a light sleeper when the nights are becoming a lot lighter or you have a partner who likes to snore.
It is estimated that over 1 billion people, with the US, Germany and the UK estimating to represent over 70 million snores alone with 60% of snorers being male whilst 40% are women. So if we take into account that there are over 1 billion snores out there and say for arguments sake they have significant others, there are also over 1 billion people who suffer from a bad night’s sleep due to their partners sleeping. This brings to the total of over 2 billion people in the world that do not have the much needed sleep their bodies require.
A simple yet effective way to help those with getting a good night’s sleep is the use of sleep and snoring earplugs. Not only will these earplugs allow you to block out the sounds of your snoring partner, but also the sound of ongoing traffic and other noisy factors.
For those who can’t sleep due to the nights getting lighter a simple solution is wearing a night shade. I have found they are extremely comfortable to wear as I even forgot I had it on and woke up thinking it was still late at night.

It is the festival season and what better way to celebrate music and enjoy great atmospheres, but the sounds emitted can have a serious effect on your hearing. It has been featured in the Music Festival Survival Guide that earplugs are one of the essential items for you to take with you in your backpack.
Here are some reasons why:
Screaming fans
Yes the band you are seeing are amazing musicians, yes they maybe heartthrobs, but is it necessary for all the screaming? If you are lucky to be close to the main stage as well, not only could you be damaging your hearing with the volume of the screams but also the noise coming from the speakers. Musician earplugs could help you have an excellent time at the festival as it will decrease the level of sound, but still allowing you to have a conversation with your fellow festivalers.
Techno music at 5am
People sometimes like to party into the early hours of the morning and that can mean the campsite could get extremely loud. If you like to up at a reasonable time to see your favourite bands that are starting fairly early in the day, sleeping earplugs could be the solution. With the help of these earplugs they will allow you to drift into sleep and have a good night’s rest without having to put up with the disturbance outside.
Spectators thinking they can form a band themselves
After hearing their favourite bands playing, some spectators become inspired and believe that they too can become the greatest rock band in the world, whereas a matter of fact they are pretty rubbish. Simple noise reduction earplugs could help you block the sounds of dreary vocals pretending to be Rod Stewart whilst still allowing you to hear the professionals and hear the conversation your friends are trying to have.

Do you snore? What about others in your household? If you or a loved one snores, it may be more than a minor annoyance. Let’s look at the facts behind snoring.
The basic mechanism of snoring is a partial obstruction of the airway by soft tissue at the back of the throat. When the person falls asleep, soft tissue at the back of the throat falls over the trachea. The snoring noise you hear is the rattle of the soft tissue.
A person who suffers from sleep apnea will actually stop breathing for a short time until they are startled awake by the lack of oxygen. If you ever hear your partner make gasping noises followed by a loud snort sound, this is probably what’s occurred.

Are you struggling to find that certain someone a special gift? For many this holiday season, diamonds, pearls and expensive electronics are a bit out of the price range. That doesn’t mean you can’t purchase special gifts for those you love. You just have to be a bit creative.
How many people appreciate a good night’s sleep? I’m not sure I know anyone who does not, especially if they are parents! Giving the gift of a good night’s sleep is quite simple and affordable!
Start with a nice basket or reusable container (green is in too!). You have many options when filling the basket if you consider all that is required for a good night’s sleep. Let’s start with a few of my favourite “good night” basket ideas. (more…)

One of my favourite days of the year is when we get to set the clocks back an hour. In fact, I usually dont set the clocks back until later in the day so I can have that lovely feeling of gaining an hour. Its kind of nice to be in the middle of a task, see the time as being noon and having the realization: Oh, its only 11! My morning isnt over yet! This year, Ive been so busy with work (which is a good thing) that Ill be spending my extra hour sneaking in work. What will you do with your extra hour? (more…)

Can sleeping earplugs help you lose weight? Well, that depends on whether you want to lose fat or muscle. Silly question, right? Of course we all want to lose fat and develop toned, defined muscles. According to a recent study, sleep deprivation may be responsible for increased lean body mass (muscle) loss during a weight loss diet.
The subjects in the study both ate healthy, low calorie diets to promote weight loss. Both groups (sleep deprived and well-rested) lost weight during the study, but the sleep deprived group lost mostly lean body mass with only 26% of their weight loss being fat. The well-rested group experienced a fat loss of 57%! (more…)
